What is the difference between a horizontal slurry pump and a vertical slurry pump?

There are two main installation forms of slurry pumps, namely horizontal slurry pump and vertical slurry pump. What are the differences between them?

The important point of horizontal slurry pump products is that all equipment is installed above the ground and adopts mechanical seal or packing seal form. At the same time, it is important that the wear resistance is good, which is more durable than the vertical slurry pump. Larger particle slurries can be passed.

The product features of vertical slurry pump are that it occupies a small area and can go deep into the liquid (it can be customized to extend the shaft slurry pump). The main accessories such as the sheath are installed.

The vertical slurry pump can increase the stirring wheel when facing the liquid. If the slurry concentration is too high, it can be put forward in the selection.

Delivery chemicals can also add rubber material to the liquid portion.

Working principle of horizontal slurry pump

Horizontal slurry pump is a centrifugal slurry pump. Its working principle and design principle are based on centrifugal pump.

Therefore, its working principle is to transfer the mechanical energy of the prime mover into the liquid through the action of the rotating impeller on the liquid.

Due to the increased velocity and pressure energy of the action liquid from the inlet to the outlet of the impeller, the liquid discharged from the impeller passes through the pressure chamber, and most of the velocity energy is converted into pressure energy, and then along the drainage pipeline. At this time, due to the discharge of the liquid, a vacuum or low pressure is formed at the inlet of the impeller, and a suction port is formed at the inlet of the impeller, and the liquid in the liquid pool is pressed into the inlet of the impeller under the action of the liquid surface pressure (atmospheric pressure). again). As a result, the rotating impeller continuously sucks in and discharges liquid.

Structure and composition of horizontal slurry pump

Horizontal mud pumps are generally composed of impeller, volute, guard plate, pump body, pump cover, shaft seal assembly, bearing assembly, shaft and bracket.

You can see that its axis is parallel to the horizontal position!

1. The impeller of the horizontal mud pump is the main part of the mud pump and the main part of the mud operation.

2. The function of the pump shaft of the mud pump is to transmit torque to rotate the impeller, mainly to transmit the power of the prime mover to the impeller.

3. The spiral shell and the protective plate mainly form a closed cavity to guide the slurry out of the outlet.

4. The bracket and the base mainly play the role of support and fixation, so that the mud pump can run stably.

5. The shaft seal is an indispensable part of the horizontal slurry pump. Vertical mud pumps generally have three forms, but there is no shaft seal.

Application of horizontal slurry pump

Horizontal mud pumps are more widely used than vertical frying soy sauce pumps or submersible mud pumps.

1. The mud pump can be widely used in mining, electric power, metallurgy, coal, environmental protection and other industries to transport mud containing abrasive solid particles;

2. For example, slurry transportation in metallurgical dressing plants, hydraulic ash removal in thermal power plants, slurry and heavy medium transportation in coal washing plants, dredging of rivers, and desilting in rivers.

3. In the chemical industry, some corrosive slurries containing crystals can also be transported.

4. At present, it is widely used in the slurry circulation system of hydrothermal desulfurization.

4. In the field of seawater sand removal, the application of mud pumps is gradually recognized by users. Slurry pumps are easier to call as sand pumps and dredging pumps for seawater sand selection and river dredging.
